From 2008 to the Present

January 2009 - Present

Due to the success of our 2008 summer camp pilot program our focus has been to further develop our curriculum, journals and additional teaching material so that other youth organizations can incorporate our champion lifestyle into their existing programs.

January 2009

Beginning in December and finishing at the beginning of January was a time of tutoring and mentoring for one 8th grader from Asbury Park who was preparing to take the MAST exam. It was wonderful to see people through Shore Christian Center, Aspiring Artists and Fizikel Foundation all come together to help prepare Tyler for his big exam.

December 2008 / January 2009

Aspiring Artists founder Debra Stasiak provided art classes for the children and youth of Asbury Park. Debra's students in the Sea Girt area raised money to provide the necessary art supplies needed for the classes.

On January 3rd, paintings from both the Sea Girt and Asbury Park children were beautifully displayed at Chris Verdi's CoreRestore studio in Asbury Park. This evening not only provided exposure for the art program through Aspiring Artists, but it also raised money and awareness for Fizikel Foundation.

December 2008
Only a few weeks after the frozen turkeys and groceries were given out in the Asbury Park Village, Fizikel Foundation, again partnering with Shore Christian Center of Allenwood, returned to bring a little Christmas joy to families of Asbury Park. Over 200 wrapped gifts and bags of groceries were given out to families in need. Complete with Christmas lights, decorations, music and a Christmas tree, families were once again greeted by many volunteers who handed out candy canes and directed the them to the age appropriate areas to pick up their gifts.

Only a few days later, Fizikel Foundation was contacted by Aslan Youth Ministries of Red Bank and told that they had a large quantity of gifts available for anyone who was in need. With the help of the Aslan Youth Ministry van, presents and clothing were loaded up and taken to Asbury Park. Some of the gifts were hand delivered to children in the neighborhood and the rest were brought to the Social Room were they would be handed out to more families in need.

Also beginning in the month of December, Fizikel Foundation and Shore Christian Center began coming together twice a month to distribute groceries to families in need.

November 2008

During the month of November Fizikel Foundation, partnering with Shore Christian Center of Allenwood, provided over 55 frozen turkeys and bags of groceries for families in need in Asbury Park. This distribution took place at the Social Room in the Asbury Park Village. Letters were sent to families by Angelina Brown of the Asbury Park Housing Committee. As families arrived they were greeted by many volunteers with warm smiles and words of encouragement. Families were encouraged to fill out a "needs list" for Christmas presents that would be given out in December.

September 2008

Fizikel Paddle for Power was a metro-coast paddle from the NYC harbor by South Street Seaport to Asbury Park, NJ to help raise money and awareness to support global duplication of the Fizikel Foundation's Empower the Youth program. Jay Tayler, Founder and CEO of Fizikel Inc. and Fizikel Foundation, was the man paddling from NYC to Asbury Park on a 14' Surftech paddle board.

While the weather would have deterred most from attempting this paddle Jay's determination and focus allowed him to see through the circumstances to the goal. A hurricane off the Jersey coast, dense fog and rain did not stop him from pursuing and completing this vision. With his video and photography team aboard a Vinik Marine boat, they completed the task before them.
While Jay encountered two back injuries from a surfing and snowboarding accident earlier in his life, it didn't stop him from pursuing his dreams; refusing to accept the doctor's diagnosis of never being able to participate in the sports he sought holistic approaches to rehabilitate his own injuries. So this paddle not only raises money to help youth everywhere, but it showed that Jay could not be held back from his own passions and dreams.

Tayler, a person who thrives on being in the arena and constantly striving to break personal barriers to maximize his potential, wanted to inspire others to do the same by demonstrating incredible determination through this Paddle for Power event.
The Fizikel message is to prepare, persist, and persevere to reach your dreams and goals. Paddle for Power is a visible display of a man who believes in his vision and is determined to see it unfold. To leave an imprint beyond your own lifetime, one must make a positive impact on another human being. Fizikel plans to carry this vision to future generations and to inspire and motivate them to make a positive difference in their world.
Without risk there is no reward!

September 2008

The Empower the Youth Day  was an accumulation of the 6 week Asbury Park pilot program, so guests could experience the program firsthand. The event featured the community members that dedicated their goods and services during the Asbury Park summer pilot program, as well as, incorporate special guest speakers and demonstrations that complimented the goals and philosophy of the Fizikel Foundation. It also featured wholesome foods from Surf Taco and Sea Greens. The event was held at the south end of the Asbury Park boardwalk, beach and adjoining parking lot where pro-skateboarder Danny Morrin and local BMX rider Brian Luff skated and road with the youth as well as put on demonstrations.

Local artists such as Marnie Mitchell-Lister, Tim Jump and Rubin Martinez donated a piece of their art work to the silent auction, Debra Stasiak from Aspiring Artists displayed art work from her students, vendors including Core Restore (Asbury Park), Key 2 Sports Training (Wall), Physicians Fitness Solutions (Asbury Park), Yes Skateboards (Ocean Grove), Brookdale Community College Sandy Hook Field Station and others offered their services as well as the Asbury Park Lifeguards, I Think I Can, unicycle team and a kite boarding demo Karen Dunbar.

Photographer Tara Lauducci spent the day doing a photo shoot for the Fizikel apparel line of clothing. Using local youth and adults, the photo shoot captured the brand on skateboards, bikes, surfboards and more along the Asbury Park boardwalk and beach.

The event wrapped up with a Rap Contest and raffling of Danny Morrin's signed skateboard. As night fell, Jay Tayler, founder/ceo of Fizikel Foundation, finished his Paddle for Power paddle from NYC. He arrived in Asbury Park in time to see the Fizikel Apparel line of clothing make its debut at the north end of the boardwalk. This fashion show was comprised of local youth and adults wearing the Fizikel apparel.

While the weather may have presented some challenges this day, Jay Tayler's "3 P" expression shined through, "Prepare, Persist and Persevere" and everyone involved turned what some may have seen as an obstacle into an opportunity for Fizikel to go from what began six years ago as one man's vision into fruition.

September 2008

Fizikel Apparel  debuted at the Empower the Youth Day with photographer Tara Lauducci photographing her team of models actively displaying the Fizikel lifestyle brand by skateboarding, bike riding, and surfing in Asbury Park. At the conclusion of the day Fizikel Apparel kicked off its first fashion show.

July - August 2008

Fizikel Empower the Youth Summer Camp helped youth developed goals for their life, vision for their future and an action plan to back it up! We saw changes in motivation and attitude within the first week. The youth began to develop new interests and discovered hidden gifts and talents as they were exposed to various types of employment, career opportunities along with a variety of creative and physical activities.

Within in the first two weeks of the program, we heard personal testimonies such as these:

"I want to be a U.S. Coast Guard"
"My attitude has really changed for the better. I used to...."
"This art project is a reflection of my father and the difficult times he has been going through",
"Mr. Jay taught me how to swim"

"I learned what Fizikel taught me as the 3 P's ....that I have to "prepare" and "persist" so that I may "persevere" so I can maximize my potential"
"This program taught me that I can do anything that I put my mind to",
"When Jay and Fizikel came on board, they helped the PAL's (Police Athletic League) program get to a whole new level" said Danielle (PAL's intern)
